The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MASA) make available to the public the Draft Zero of the Master Plan of ProSAVANA, which presents the main approaches and components of ProSAVANA for the agricultural development of the Nacala Corridor. This draft zero of Master Plan is based in the Strategic Plan for the Development of the Agricultural Sector (PEDSA) and in the premise of increasing of production and productivity and contribution to food security and increasing of income of the Mozambican farmers in a competitive and sustainable way, ensuring social and gender equity.


In this context, MASA would like to invite all the related partners, especially public institutions, private sector, academy, farmer’s organizations and civil society organizations, to participate in the public hearing meetings on the Draft Zero of ProSAVANA Master Plan at district, provincial and national levels. At district level, the meetings will take place from April 20 to 29 2015. The dates and venue of the meetings in the provinces of Nampula, Niassa and Zambézia, and in Maputo city will be informed by MASA in due time.


The purpose of the round of public hearing is to present and discuss with the related parties the ProSAVANA Master Plan, for receiving contributions about the strategies of elaboration of Plan, which will be opened for public comments to be reflected accordingly.


We appreciate your participation in this discussion to contribute to jointly built strategies for the agricultural development in Mozambique aiming to promote food security of the Mozambican population.
