“ProSAVANA-PEM” (The Project for Establishment of Development Model at Communities’ Level with Improvement of Rural Extension Service under Nacala Corridor Agricultural Development in Mozambique) is a project with the purpose to increase agricultural production, productivity, and income at each level of farming through adoption of the agricultural development models in the target areas of ProSAVANA.


The project period is from May 2013 to May 2020, and target area covers 21 Districts of Nampula, Zambezia, and Niassa Provinces, located in the northern part of Mozambique. There are four models under ProSAVANA-PEM, and each model is implemented according to the farmers’ situation and related organizational form as below. ProSAVANA-PEM supports the farmers through strengthening the government extension service.
